Snorkeling & diving are frequently booked trips and courses as life under water keeps mesmerizing many people.
There are half-day and full-day snorkeling trips that will take you to several islands in the Koh Rang National Marine Park area. Here you can enjoy the beautiful sight of live corals, colourful fish and other sea life.
We recommend to go out and experience a full day on the water. The only thing you have to worry about is making sure you book your trip in time, at least one day in advance, and after that step everything will be taken care off.
If you choose to go out on a full-day trip, four islands will be visited. Pick up at the resort is around 08.30 AM where you’ll go to Bang Bao Pier to set sail for the first of four islands. A barbecue snack, tasty lunch and unlimited drinking water are provided on the boat. You may think you’ll be okay without water, but after a few hours in the salty water you’re going to be happy it’s included!
Most time will be spent in the water, looking at amazing fish that aren’t scared of humans one bit. A tip to make it even more fun: bring some bread! A big group of fish will gather and devour it, which will give you the perfect view on board.
Lastly, some time will be spent on the beach of Koh Wai, where you can keep snorkeling or relax in the sun. After taking the boat back to Koh Chang, the taxi will drop you off at the resort around 17.00 PM.
There are multiple diving schools on the island, a great one as closeby as Lonely Beach; BB Divers. The owner is Belgian and founded the school in 2003. There is a course for anyone, from beginners to experienced. If you’re not PADI certified yet, in a few days you will be!
Becoming PADI certified costs a little effort, as you have to study the materials and pass the test, but then you’re free to explore sea life at 18 metres deep. Who wouldn’t want that?
